Products and Services: CR Action Sport is the only jet-ski rental business on Claytor Lake. Jet skis can be rented for $20 a half hour or $35 an hour. Discounts are available for more than two hours. A full tank of gas, life jackets and a watch are included with all rentals. The jet skis are "sit-down" type, also known as a personal water craft, which are easy to handle and can carry up to three people. Riding a jet ski isn't difficult, Radley says, but the maximum speed of 43 mph means the skis can be dangerous. A throttle controls the speed and the craft is guided like a bicycle. The skis are "very safe as long as you're a responsible rider," Radley said. Customers should call ahead for reservations.

Owner's Biography: Radley, 20, will be a senior finance major at Radford University next school year. He became interested in jet skis after riding them at the beach. That led him to wonder why "no one had started it here [at Claytor Lake]." The answer, he found, was that other people had been intimidated by insurance costs, which are turning out to be cheaper than he thought.
