BLACK, Sallie Ellen Jones, 89, of Radford, departed this life Friday, July 7, 1995 at the Radford Community Hospital after a short illness. She was born July 6, 1906 in Riner, the daughter of the late Rev. Thomas and Mrs. Ellen Jones. Mrs. Black was an active member of the New Mount Olive United Methodist Church, Radford, where she served in numerous offices. She was also a member of the Jones Chapter #81 of the Order of Eastern Star. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, and wife. She was preceded i n death by her husband of 63 years, Garland W. Black. She leaves to cherish her memory three daughters, Pinkey C. Walson and Amy B. (William) Graves both of Radford, Alice C. (Odell) Bond of New River; five grandchildren, Ruth B. (William) Wolford, Richard (Tonya) Walson, Melvin Bond, Georgina Walson and Arthur Graves; six great-grandchildren; one sister, Angie (Homer) Pack of Riner; five sisters-in-law, Mrs. Alvin Jones, Mrs. Nonie Stewart, Mrs. Lonnie Burks, Mrs. Velma Wilson and Mrs. Theolia Fliggins; and a host of other nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Funeral service will be Tuesday, July 11, at the New Mount Olive United Methodist Church, Radford with Pastor Angela Hardy officiating. Burial will be at the Sunrise Burial Park, Fairlawn. The family will receive friends Monday evening from 7 to 8 p.m. at the New Mount Olive United Methodist Church. Penns Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

JENNINGS, Betty Jean, 59, of Rt. 1, Box 215A, Woodlawn, died Sunday, July 9, 1995 in Twin County Regional Hospital. The daughter of the late Sidney Horton and Vida Quesinberry Horton, she was born July 23, 1935 in Carroll County. She is survived by her husband, Dennis Jennings; one daughter, Stacy Jennings of Woodlawn; one sister and brother-in-law, Dianne and Massie White of Dublin; three brothers and sisters-in-law, Garnett and Oleane Horton of Woodlawn, James E. and Polly Horton of Dublin, Richard and Brenda Horton of Woodlawn; one grandson, Dylan Chase Kirby; one god child, Holly Marshall; a brother-in-law and spouse, Darrell and Virginia Jennings. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, July 11, 1995 at the Skyview Missionar y Baptist Church with the Rev. Elmon Thompson and Rev. Wendell Horton officiating. JONES, Royce Earl, 62, of Lexington, died Sunday, July 9, 1995 at Stonewall Jackson Hospital. Born January 26, 1933, at Hampton, Va. he was the son of the late Herbert David Jones and Rozella Parker Jones. Mr. Jones was Director of Cadet Affairs at Virginia Military Institute, where he graduated with the Class of '55, serving as the Vice President of his class. He was a member of Manly Memorial Baptist Church and was a member of the Keydet Club and Kappa Alpha Order. Surviving are his wife, Margaret Rutledge Jones, Lexington; two daughters, Laura Jones Kindley, Virginia Beach, Patricia Jones Affronti, Virginia Beach; two sons, Richard Craig Jones, Fork Union, Royce Earl Jones Jr., Pleasureville, Ky.; one sister, Catherine J. Tyndall, Hampton; four brothers, Ronald Herbert Jones, Springfield, Mo., Glen Derwood Jones, Newport News, Robert Eugene Jones, Enterprise, Fla., Larry Parker Jones, Newport News; and seven grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, July 12, 1995, at 11 a.m. from Manley Memorial Baptist Church with Dr. Thomas G. Harvey officiating. Burial will follow in Stonewall Jackson Cemetery. JORDAN, Mary Morelock, 77, of Radford, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, July 8, 1995, at the home of her daughter. She was a member of Gethsemane Baptist Church in Radford. She was preceded in death by her husband, Cecil Jordan and also by two sons, Ronnie and Bob Jordan. Survivors include three daughters, Margaret Morgan and Linda McCoy both of Radford, and Betty Whitaker of Roanoke; four sons, Glenn Jordan of Colorado Springs, Colorado, Jimmy Jordan of Houston, Texas, and Jerry and Richard Jordan both of Radford; 20 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Thursday, July 13, 1995 at 11 a.m. at the Seaver-Sanders & Mullins Funeral Home in Radford with Pastor Jerry Gibson officiating. McGEORGE, Gilbert W., (``Mac""), 71, of Roanoke, died Saturday, July 8, 1995. He was a member of Grandin Court Baptist Church and was a retired employee of C & P Telephone Co. with 38 years service. He was also a member of the Telephone Pioneers of America, and served in the U.S. Army in Europe during World War II. He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Pauline Brooks McGeorge of Roanoke; daughter and son-in-law, Rebecca M. and James Johnson of Baldwin, Md.; two sons and daughter-in-law, Gilbert W. McGeorge Jr. of Roanoke and Kirk Joseph and Helen Risk McGeorge of Saipin, Micronnesia; two sisters, Frances Marion of Galax and Louise McGlothlin of Vinton; two grandchildren, Gilbert W. McGeorge III and Mary Payne McGeorge. Funeral services will be at Oakey's South Chapel a t 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 12, 1995 with the Rev. Philip E. Motley and Rev. Carol Johnston officiating. Interment will follow at Sherwood Memorial Park. Friends may call at Oakey's South Chapel from 2 to 4 p.m. Monday and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday.
