BURTON, Clara Truman Williams, 69, of Blacksburg, died Tuesday, July 11, 1995 in Roanoke Memorial Hospital. She is survived by her husband, George O. Burton, Blacksburg; one son, Bruce D. Burton, Lexington, KY.; one daughter, Rebecca Lynn Burton, Tallahassee, Fla.; and two grandchildren, Edward Thomas Burton, Sarah Marie Burton, both of Lexington, KY. A graveside service will be 11 a.m. Friday at the Maury Cemetery in Richmond, conducted by Dr. Glenn Pratt. Friends may call anytime Wednesday after noon at the Richardson-Horne Funeral Home in Christiansburg and the family will receive friends there from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday. The body will then be taken to Bliley's Hull Street Road Chapel in Richmond, where the family will receive friends one hour before the service on Friday. The family most sincerely requests flowers be omitted and memorials be made to the American Cancer Society. Arrangements by Richardson-Horne in Christiansburg.

ADKINS, Toney Clark, 43, of Christiansburg, passed away Sunday, July 9, 1995, in the Montgomery Regional Hospital. The funeral will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Richardson-Horne Funeral Home Chapel, conducted by the Rev. Dewey O. Weaver Jr. with burial in Roselawn Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Christiansburg Rescue Squad, Box 176, Christiansburg, Va. 24073. Arrangements are being handled by the Richardson-Horne Funeral Home, Christiansburg.

AKERS, Wendell Owen, 75, of Niagara Falls, N.Y., formerly of Floyd, passed away Sunday, July 9, 1995. He was the twin brother of Amelia Spencer of Floyd. Funeral services 2 p.m. Friday, July 14, 1995, at the Williamson Funeral Home, Niagara Falls, N.Y.

BOLSTER, Leonora Trout, 85, of Roanoke, died Tuesday, July 11, 1995. Mrs. Bolster was a renowned artist and art teacher in the Roanoke area for many years. She was the daughter of the late Dr. Hugh Henry Trout and Leonora Cocke Trout. Mrs. Bolster was preceded in death by her husband, Herman A. Bolster; two brothers, Dr. Hugh Henry Trout, Dr. Philip Cocke Trout. Surviving are her half sister, Alice Hagan, Roanoke; half brother, Albert Trout, Maryland. Mrs. Bolster is also survived by four sons, a daughter, and their spouses, all of whom adored her and will miss her greatly: David and Sue Bolster, Durham, N.C., William and Laura Bolster, Roanoke, Hugh and Carolyn Bolster, Beaufort, S.C., Herman Kennedy Bolster, Virginia Beach, Barbara and Melvin Davidson, Bellingham, Wash. Also surviving are eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to the charity of your choice. Funeral services will be conducted by the Rev. Dr. G. Ernest Deyerle on Saturday, July 15, 1995, at 2 p.m. at the Cocke Family Cemetery, Hollins College. GETTLE, Rachel D., of Roanoke, went to be with the Lord, Monday evening, July 10, 1995. She was a longtime member of Trinity United Methodist Church, where she served on the official board and was a member of the Women's Mission Guild. Miss Gettle was also a member of the ROKEVA Woman's Club. Surviving are her dear, devoted companion, Nancy Harrison, Roanoke; three devoted nephews and their wives, Donald W. and Linda Gettle, Atlanta, Ga., Robert H. and Jackie Gettle, Columbia, S.C., Harold W. and Betty Gettle, Roanoke; two great-nieces and their husbands and children, Luanne Gettle and Stephen, Anna, and Matthew Love, Johnson City, Tenn., Margaret Gettle and Lee Washburn, Atlanta, Ga. A memorial service will be c onducted at 10:30 a.m. Friday from Oakey's Roanoke Chapel with the Rev. David R. Tanner officiating. Private interment will take place in Wesley Bury United Methodist Church Cemetery, Gladys. HENDERSON, Marie Baker, 81, of Roanoke, died Sunday, July 9, 1995. She was the widow of Percy Ross Henderson and a member of Second Presbyterian Church. Surviving are two daughters and sons-in-law, Mary Ellen and Craig D. Money, High Point, N.C., Nancy Ross and Henry Clay Nelson III., Roanoke; five grandchildren, Taylor Chance, Henry Clay Nelson IV, Allison Paige, Kathryn Ross Money, Hunter Nelson and husband Danny Felty; a brother, Letcher Baker, Denver, Colo.; sisters-in-law, Mattie Baker, Terrell, Texas, Mrs. L. T. Chance, Mrs.. J. M. Stull, Mrs. G. Q. Henderson; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. A. H. Henderson; also several nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be conducted at Trinity Cemetery, Botetourt Co., 3 p.m. T hursday, July 13, 1995 with Dr. William R. Klein officiating. LEWIS, Euna White, (""Granny""), 86, of 3906 Richland Ave., Roanoke, Va., and formerly of Bluefield, died Monday, July 10, 1995, in a Roanoke hospital. Born in Tazewell County, Virginia, she was a daughter of the late Thomas and Martha Asbury White. She was a homemaker and a member of the Cumberland Heights Baptist Church. She had resided in Roanoke for nine months. She was preceded in death by her husband, Haston James ""Jack"" Lewis, two sons, Hampton, James Lewis Jr., and Edward Wayne Lewis, six brothers and five sisters. She was the last member of her immediate family. Surviving are her daughters, Mrs. Roy E. (Sybil) Rose, Bluefield, W. Va., Mrs. William R. (Celia) Ferguson, Roanoke, Mrs. Edward B. (Irene) Amburn, Roanoke, and Mrs. E. Ray (Jean) Stamper, Roanoke; son, William Douglas Lewis, Salem; eleven grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild. Funeral services will be conducted Thursday at 12:30 p.m. from the Mercer Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Raymond Klairber officiating. Burial will follow in the Monte Vista Park Cemetery in Green Valley. OLIVER, Beverly Jo Lewter, 46, of Rt. 1, Montvale, died Sunday, July 9, 1995 at her residence. She was born in Franklin, Va. on March 26, 1949, a daughter of Ramona Burgess Lewter of Winston-Salem, N.C. and the late Joseph Clarence Lewter. She was an interior designer. In addition to her mother, she is survived by her husband, David M. Oliver; a daughter, Shelley Oliver, Montvale; three brothers, Jeffrey Lewter and Michael Lewter, both of Clemmons, N.C., Randy Lewter, Summerfield, N.C. A funeral service will be conducted Saturday, July 15, 1995 at 12 noon at the Oliver residence at Rt. 1, Box 253, Montvale, Va., with the Rev. Robin Henrickson officiating. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at the Carder-Tharp Funeral Home, Bedford, and also one hour prior to the service on Saturday. ROBERTS, Garnett Harry, 79, of Radford, passed away Monday, July 10 1995. He was a U. S. Navy Veteran of World War II and a retired store keeper for Hercules with 26 years service. Survivors include his wife, Francs W. Roberts, Radford; four brothers, Willy Roberts, Radford, Donald Roberts, Henrico, N.C., Morris Roberts, Chevy Chase, Md., Caryle Roberts, Wal ton. WEBB, Virginia Cash 80, formerly of Amherst Co. died Monday, July 10 1995 in St. Johns Nursing Home. She was the wife of the late John Metteau Webb. Born in Amherst Co. she was a daughter of the late John Lee and Elizabeth Campbell Cash. She was a retired Public School Teacher For Fredrick Co. Public Schools, a graduate of James Madison University, and a member of Rose Union Baptist Church in Nelson Co. She is survived by four sisters, Myra C. Massie, Madison Heights, Margaret C. Campbell, Amherst, Lois C. Proffitt, Arrington, and Louise C. Whitmer, Mt. Crawford; one brother, John L. Cash Jr., Evington; three stepsons, John M. Webb Jr., and Jimmy Webb, both of Roanoke, Donnie Webb, Summerville, S.C. A graveside service will be held 10 a.m. Thursday in Evergreen Cemetery, Roanoke, by the Rev. John Campbell. ZIEGLER, Herman, 85, of Wytheville, Va. and formerly of Hanoverton, Ohio, died early Tuesday, July 11, 1995, in the Birdmont Health Care Center in Wytheville. Mr. Ziegler was a member of the Wytheville Baptist Church, The Hanoverton Christian Church, ad a member of the Sandy Valley Masonic Lodge, Hanoverton, Ohio. He was preceded in death by his wife, B. Evan Williams Ziegler; a grandson, Jack Altenhof. He is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Carolyn and Paul Walter, Ky.; a son and daughter-in-law, H. Fred and Sannie Ziegler, M.D., Wytheville; a brother, Chris Ziegler, Hanoverton, Ohio; seven grandchildren, Kenneth F. Ziegler, Karen Lynn Ziegler, Heather Z. Kizer, Mary E. Ziegler, David Altenhof, Larry Altenhof, Becky Rea; seven great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews also survive. A memorial service for Mr. Ziegle r will be held Monday, July 24, 1995, in Hanoverton, Ohio. The family request that those who prefer, may make memorials to the charity of their choice.
