Mount Vernon's Jen Henley clobbered a two-run homer in the first inning as the West took a 6-0 lead. In the second, Robinson's Elizabeth Urban, who will play next year at Ferrum, hit a three-run shot, putting the West ahead 9-0.
When the East's Chrissy Einarson of Broad Run slammed a two-run homer in the fourth and Bayside's Amy Hooks added a solo shot in the seventh, it was much too late to catch the West.
Urban was the most valuable player for the West as she drove in five runs with a single and homer. Einarson had three hits and a walk to pick up the East's honor.
Timesland Player of the Year Amy Doupnik of William Byrd pitched three innings, giving up three hits and one earned run. She also singled for one of 13 hits by the West.
Other Timesland players included Glenvar's Kristi Robinson, who played well at short but went hitless, and Salem's Dee Holiday, who was at third but also went hitless.
Rustburg's Katie Phillips, who pitched her team to two Group AA titles before losing in the Region III finals this year to Doupnik and Byrd, was the winning pitcher for the West.
