ONLY SLIGHT INJURY AS CAR TOPPLES VAN

A two-vehicle collision on Williamson Road in Roanoke Thursday night left a minivan lying on its side blocking two lanes of traffic.

Joyce Henderson Bower, 53, was driving south on Williamson Road about 10:30 p.m. when William John Lotz, 86, pulled out from Kirk Avenue and struck Bower's van in the side, Roanoke police said. Lotz's car pushed the van sideways and eventually toppled it.

Henderson said she banged her left elbow, but no other injuries were reported.

Lotz was charged with failure to yield the right of way, police said.
