REPORTED EARNINGS

Georgia-Pacific Corp. reported second-quarter net income of $265 million, or $2.95 per share, on sales of $3.7 billion, compared with year-earlier $14 million or 16 cents per share, on sales of $3.19 billion.

For the half-year, the Atlanta-based forest-products company with operations in Bedford County and a distribution center in Roanoke reported net income of $497 million, or $5.54 per share, on sales of $7.18 billion, compared with year-earlier $54 million, or 61 cents per share, on sales of $6.13 billion.
