The bonds would be used to repair sewer line corrosion in Pulaski. They would be repaid at an annual 4.5 percent interest rate from sewer revenues. The town plans to repay the bonds in 15 years, though it's allowed to take up to 40.
Council also may get a recommendation from the Human Resources Committee for an executive director of the Economic Development Board, established this year to find ways of improving economic development in the town. The committee has been interviewing applicants for several months.
The governing body also is scheduled to consider imposing a consumer utility tax on cellular telephone users, adopting a new investment policy, and raising the fines for parking violations.
The base fine for exceeding the two-hour parking limit in downtown Pulaski would go from $5, which has been the penalty since 1985, to $7.
Council had considered raising the fines more than that following complaints from downtown businesses that store employees often occupied spaces that could be used by potential customers. But members did not want a higher penalty to drive away customers from downtown.
