CROSSROADS AREA ROAD CLOSED

Town Square Boulevard, N.W., just east of Rutgers Avenue, N.W., will be closed today and remain closed for at least a week.

Workers will be repairing a sinkhole that caused a manhole to collapse following the recent heavy rains.

Town Square is the shopping area behind Crossroads Mall.

While a detour will not be marked, motorists still will have access all of the stores in the Town Square Shopping Center via the parking lots. Due to potential traffic problems, through traffic is encouraged to use Hershberger Road.

According to the contractor, sinkholes in this area are not unusual. The street will be closed for a minimum of one week and possibly longer depending on the extent of the problem.
