PLAY HAS MUSIC, SUMMER AMBIENCE

Like a cool drink on a hot day, Wytheville Community College's summer musical production, "Pump Boys and Dinettes," will take you away from the week's hustle and bustle for a few hours.

The production opens Friday and continues July 22, 28 and 29, with all performances at 8 p.m.

The musical play takes place "somewhere in the South" at a gas station on Highway 57, beside the Double Cupp Diner. The production features dancing, singing and music from country to rock to blues to gospel.

The box office opens a half-hour before each show. Tickets are $4 for adults, $3 for senior citizens and $2 for students. Reservations can be made by calling 223-4795. The college is on East Main Street.
