Greg Louganis leapt off the diving board onto center stage.

Louganis will star in ``The Only Thing Worse You Could Have Told Me...,'' a one-man off-Broadway show about contemporary gay life.

The Olympic gold medalist joins the play Aug. 8 at the Actors' Playhouse, replacing its current star and author, Dan Butler. Butler is leaving the show to resume filming the NBC sitcom ``Frasier,'' in which he plays macho sportscaster Bulldog Briscoe.

Louganis recently finished a book tour for his autobiography, ``Breaking the Surface,'' which discusses his homosexuality and discloses he has AIDS.

Olga Korbut says many young American gymnasts are talented, friendly and ...

``They are lazy. What they need most is character in order to want to do better,'' said Korbut, the Olympic gold medal gymnast for the Soviet Union in 1972 and 1976.

Korbut lives in Atlanta, where she runs a camp for young gymnasts. ``I am never tired, and I always feel creative,'' she said.
