BARTHOLOMEW, Mary Eleanor Reid, of Roanoke, passed Tuesday, July 18, 1995. She was born April 21, 1904 in Circleville, Ohio. The widow of Harry Leland Bartholomew, formerly of Roanoke, Va., Winston Salem, N.C. and Sun City Center, Fla. Mrs. Bartholomew was a member of the Eastern Star, Winston Salem Chapter. She is survived by her daughter, Jo Ruth Bartholomew Shirkey; and her granddaughter, Jodi Shirkey, Roanoke. A memorial service will be held, Saturday, July 22, 1995, at 12 noon at Saint Johns Episcopal Church. Entombment beside her husband at the Skyway Memorial Gardens, Palmetto, Fla. DEBO, J. Douglas Jr., 41, of Roanoke, died Wednesday, July 19, 1995, at his residence. He was preceded in death by his father, Jerome D. Debo Sr., and was a member of Saint Andrews Catholic Church. Mr. Debo was a former employee of Virginia Plastics. Surviving are his mother, Sylvia H. Debo; sisters and brothers-in-law, Deborah and Dennis Callahan, Virginia Beach, Diane and Roger Barber, Vinton, Donna and Kevin Legge, Roanoke; a brother, R. FELTY, Anna Lyons, 98, of Pulaski, died Tuesday, July 18, 1995, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. A.W. Davis of Pulaski, after a lengthy illness. Born in Bluefield, W.Va., August 2, 18 97, to the Rev. William Sylvanus and Rhoda Cotrell Lyons she was the fourth of nine children, all of whom preceded her in death. A graduate of Hiawasse College in Madisonville, Tenn., she was an elementary school teacher. Having been born to a Methodist minister, she was active in the Methodist Church all her life. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Heber Nathaniel Felty and a son, George William Felty Sr. Survivors include her daughter, Mrs. A.W. (Rhoda Lee) Davis of Pulaski; grandchildren, Robert Smith Lockett and wife, Gloria Jean of The Colony Texas, Gerald Lee Lockett and wife, Stephanie of Bartlett, Tenn., George William Felty of Cockeysville, Md., Sandra Walls and husband, Kelly of Bluefield, W.Va., and Larry Wayne Felty and wife, Ramona of Winston-Salem, N.C.; stepgranddaughter, Shannon D. Callahan and husband, Mike of Buford, Ga.; 13 great-grandchildren; 12 great-great-grandchildren; also a daughter-in-law, Louise York of Princeton, W.Va.; a brother-in-law, John Ray Cundiff; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Friday at the First United Methodist Church in Princeton with the Rev. Clifford Schell officiating. FERGUSON, Bessie Lorraine, 92, of Harrisonburg, died Tuesday evening, July 18, 1995. She was the widow of William R. Ferguson. A daughter of the late William Lee and Elizabeth McKinny Crantz, she was born on January 9, 1903 in Roanoke. Mrs. Ferguson had made her home in Maine for 40 years where she owned and operated The Marginal Way Inn in Ogunquit, Maine prior to moving to Harrisonburg in 1974. On August 24, 1935 she married William R. Ferguson, an associate with Metro-Goldwyn Mayer Picture Corp., who preceded her in death on July 6, 1959. She was the surviving member of her immediate family. He only survivors are a niece and nephew. Her body will be cremated at the Lindsey Cremation Chapel in Harrisonburg. A graveside service will be held at a later date in the Ocean View Cemetery in Wells, Maine. Friends may call at the home of her niece, Janet C. Wescot t, 60 Emery Street, Harrisonburg, at any time. LOWE, Alma Dent, 68, of Narrows, died Monday, July 17, 1995, in the Giles Memorial Hospital in Pearisburg, Va. A lifelong resident of Giles County, She was born at Pearisburg, Va., on November 25, 1926, and was the daughter of the late Dewey Coburn and Lillie Davis Dent. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Narrows. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Robert Lowe Jr. She is survived by three sons, Donald E. Lowe, Rich Creek, James R. Lowe III, Newport News, Russell R. Lowe, Rich Creek; two daughters, Patricia L. Ray, Richmond, Sharon L. Heslep, Princeton, W.Va.; a brother, Robert E. Dent Sr., Hampton; nine grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and several nieces and nephews. SPANGLER, Henry Odell, 71, of Pembroke, died Monday, July 17, 1995, at his home. Born in Oakvale, W. Va., he was a son of Stella Tracy Spangler of Pembroke and the late Henry Grady Spangler. He was retired from the Hoechst-Celanese Plant near Narrows, was a veteran of the U.S. Army in World War II and was a member of the V.F. W. post at Narrows. He was a member of the 1943 graduating class at Pembroke High School. Surviving beside his mother are two daughters, Vanessa Martin of Roanoke and Teresa Bright of Oxford, N.C.; a brother, Charles R. Spangler of Seneca, S.C.; a sister, Ethel S. Martin of Pfafftown, N.C.; two grandchildren; and a special friend, Geanetta Ballengee of Hinton, W.Va.. She is survived by eight nieces, Iris Deane Winfield, Cathryn Wooldridge, Dorothy Saunders, Nellie Basham, Jean Gardner, Nancy Wilkes, Becky Meador, Betty Sue Sink; two nephews, James Thomas, Allen ``Whitey"" Thomas. Funeral services will be conducted Friday, July 21, 1995, at 11 a.m. from the Emmaus United Methodist Church, by the Rev. Jim Brown and the Rev. A. Dave Snead. WALL, Guy Weston, 76, of Blacksburg, died suddenly at his home Tuesday, July 18, 1995. Born in Roanoke on July 11, 1919, he was a son of the late Guy Floyd and Edna Weston Wall. Mr Wall was a retired dairy farmer, a director of F.N.B. in Christiansburg, member of New River Valley Planning Commission, past member of Montgomery County Board of Supervisors, and a board member of Montgomery County Consolidated Farm Service Administration. He was also a life time member of the National Holstein Association. Surviving are his wife, Sarah McDonald Wall of 53 years; four children and spouses, Charles M. Wall and wife, Beverly, Carol W. Linkous and husband, Don, Ann W. Martin and husband, David P. (``Tot""), and Richard F. Wall and wife, Carolyn all of Blacksburg; eight grandchildren, Tammy Linkous, Donna Link, Jeffrey and Vicki Wall, Kristi and Mike Snyder, Wes Martin, Carrie Martin, Frenda Wall, and Nathan Wall; three great-grandchildren.
