Tuttle, who has made three tapes of music that induces spiritual contemplation, will speak at the 9 and 11 a.m. services on Sunday and present a concert at 2 p.m. He will present a workshop, "The Healing Power of Music," on Monday from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.

THE ANNUAL CHOIR SCHOOL for children in the second through sixth grades will be held Aug. 14 -18 at Raleigh Court United Methodist Church. The singers, under the direction of Phyllis Wampler, will present a new musical," Rescue in the Night."

A SINGLES TALK-BACK for adults of any denomination will begin with a potluck supper Friday at 6:30 p.m. at First Baptist Church, 515 Third St. S.W. "Men Are Buffaloes. Women are Butterflies. What's the Big Difference?" will be the theme of the discussion during the free event. Participants, however, are requested to bring meat, vegetable, salad or dessert. A NEW CONGREGATION, Spirit of Life Full Gospel Baptist Church, currently is worshiping in the cafeteria of William Ruffner Magnet Middle School with the Rev. Antonio D. Thomas as pastor. Sunday worship begins at 10:30 a.m., and there is a Wednesday night prayer and Bible study program at 7.
THE REV. J. EUGENE YOUNG is being honored this week on his 13th anniversary of coming to the pastorate of Jerusalem Baptist Church. Guest speakers tonight and Friday, at 7:30, are respectively the Rev. Joseph Keaton of Central Baptist of Roanoke and the Rev. Antonio D. Thomas of Spirit of Life Full Gospel Baptist Church.
On Sunday, at 10:45 a.m. Jerusalem's associate pastor, the Rev. Joseph Trials, will preach, and at 4 p.m. the Rev. Lee A. Lewis of Morning Star Baptist will be the guest. All services will include music by guest choirs.
CALVARY BAPTIST CHURCH, 608 Campbell Ave. S.W., will be the site of the free Sunday afternoon organ recital beginning at 3. Guest performer will be Dorothy Porter, a Blacksburg organ major at St. Olaf College in Northfield, Minn. The program is one of a series sponsored by the Roanoke Chapter of the American Guild of Organists.
ARNIE ALDRIDGE, a member of the Cotton Hill Road congregation of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, will speaker there July 30 at the 9 a.m. service.
Aldridge, a 1994 graduate of Cave Spring High School, will leave in August for Provo, Utah, to train for two years of mission service in Chile. His parents are Jim and Denise Aldridge of Roanoke County.

GERALD MCDERMOTT, professor of religion at Roanoke College and member of the Evangelical Episcopal Church of the Holy Spirit, will speak Sunday at 10:30 a.m. at Ghent Grace Brethren Church, 1511 Maiden Lane S.W. At 10:30 a.m., his topic will be "Physical and Spiritual Healing," and at 6 p.m. the theme will be "The Silence of God."
THE WEST END CENTER, an ecumenical ministry serving inner-city children and youth in Southwest Roanoke, has added three summer staff members - Kacelia Ferrell, Lara Seek and Chris Tobin,.
In June the center worked with a record 100 children. The center soon will have a playground renovated by members of Salem Presbyterian Church, and its board is negotiating for purchase of more parking space.
WEST END UNITED METHODIST CHURCH, 512 13th St. S.W., will begin its vacation Bible school on July 31 at 9:15 a.m. From Aug. 1 through Aug. 4 , the sessions will be in the evening from 6:30 to 8:30. Classes will be provided for all age groups. Call 344-0206 in the mornings to register.
OAK GROVE CHURCH OF THE BRETHREN is sponsoring Wednesday night discussion groups in homes through Aug. 2. Each begins at 7 and is open to the community. Themes are "The Spiritual Journey of Robert E. SALEM BAPTIST YOUTH have returned from a week of summer mission service at Garden City, S.C., where they worked with vacationers through Garden City Chapel. The group had been scheduled to go to a Pennsylvania church for a service project but on 24 hours notice changed plans when floods canceled the original project.
