EAGLES DUMP RIVERDAWGS

Keith Dakin scored two goals and John Payne had two assists as the Charlotte Eagles defeated the Roanoke RiverDawgs 3-1 on Friday night in the U.S. Interregional Soccer League.

Dakin scored his first goal at 6:38 of the first half to give the Eagles (13-4) the lead. Roanoke (4-12) tied the score on Ian Spooner's goal at 20:29 of the first half.

Dakin scored the game-winner at 20:53 of the second half on an assist from Payne. Jamie Wellington capped the scoring with a late goal.

The RiverDawgs' next game is on the road at 7:30 p.m. today against the Columbia (S.C.) Heat.
