RADFORD - The Radford Community Hospital Auxiliary sponsors its second memorial servsunday. The service, hosted by Fairlawn Presbyterian, is for family and friends of patients who have died at the hospital since January. About 50 people attended a similar service in February.
The service is to emphasize the importance of continued healing and remembrance, as well as a gesture of the continued concern by the hospital's staff for the survivors.
The service will be at 4 p.m. The church is at 6900 Pulaski Avenue in Fairlawn. For more information, call Rev. Jonathan Webster, Radford Community Hospital chaplain, at 731-2556.
Canoe rentals at Bisset Park
RADFORD - Tangent Outfitters of Dublin is offering canoe rentals at Bisset Park in Radford. Beginner and intermediate canoe trips depart from the park, as well as hourly rentals.
Prices start at $10 per person and are available for one-, two-, three- or four-hour trips.
A sunset cruise, a leisurely float down the river, leaves the park at 6:30 p.m.
Hours are Thursdays and Fridays, 3-8 p.m.; Saturdays and Sundays, 8 a.m.-8 p.m.; and by reservation during the week.
