The traveling exhibit is presented by the Smithsonian Institution and displays 52 black-and-white photographs that document the African experience and its legacy in Mexico.
The photographs document daily life of the people, work, traditions and the struggle to survive as a cultural group.
Gleaton's photographs are included in museum collections and in private and public institutions throughout the U.S. and Mexico.
The Harrison museum is located at 523 Harrison Ave. N.W., Roanoke. Hours are Monday through Friday, 10 a.m.-5 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday, 1-5 p.m.
