ROBERT BIANCO, executive director of Brandon Oaks retirement community, has received certification from the American College of Health Care Administrators. The certification involved passing an exam, earning a master's degree in health care administration and attending an executive level program in management.

Bianco also is a fellow in the American College of Health Care Administrators.

THE SOCIETY OF CHARTERED PROPERTY CASUALTY UNDERWRITERS BLUE RIDGE CHAPTER recently installed officers for 1995-96.

Harry L. Waldron is president, and Robert D. Nave is president-elect. Other officers are: William G. Johnson, secretary; and Jesse N. Jones Jr., treasurer.

MARK F. COLES of Roanoke recently was recognized by the Virginia Society of Certified Public Accountants for exceptionally high scores on the November 1994 exam required to receive the CPA designation.

GOODY'S FAMILY CLOTHING gave away a 1995 Plymouth Voyager van to Lovviner Scott of Ferrum. Scott registered for the chainwide drawing at Goody's Tanglewood Mall store.

THE VIRGINIA SOCIETY OF CERTIFIED PUBLIC ACCOUNTANTS recently awarded life memberships to 65 members. The Roanoke-area members receiving memberships include: Emmett Cruise, Warren M. Miller and Isaac O. Perkins of Roanoke.

TRUCK ENTERPRISES OF ROANOKE has been named Kenworth Truck Co.'s Southern Region Dealer of the Year.

The top score in each region qualifies for the regional Dealer of the Year award, and the top overall score in the United States qualifies for Kenworth's Dealer of the Year.

THE HOMECARE AIDE TRAINING PROGRAM has announced the names of its recent graduates. They are Colleen Daniels, Angela Arrington, Margaret Sullivan, Deanna Bonds, and Mary Hayes.

RONALD BAILEY, a GMC medium-duty truck salesman for Virginia Truck Center Inc., has earned the professional member qualification level in the 1994 GMC truck five-star performers sales master program.

SHEILA E. WILSON of Roanoke has been elected president of the American Society of Interior Designers for the 1995-96 year.

Wilson works for Healthcare Interiors Inc.

TOM MOORE of Roanoke earned an outstanding salesman award for 1994 from L.B. Smith Inc. He was inducted into the Eagles' Club for his excellence in sales professionalism and customer service.

L.B. Smith Inc. is a distributor of multi-line heavy construction, mining and quarry equipment.

DR. MASTON R. McCORKLE JR. of Roanoke has been elected president-elect of the Virginia Association of Orthodontists.

THE LEGAL AID SOCIETY OF ROANOKE VALLEY has recognized several lawyers from Woods, Rogers & Hazlegrove P.L.C. for their contributions to the society's pro bono program. They are: Nicholas C. Conte, Diane M. Baun, Abigail L. Perkins, Stacy M. Colvin and Thomas M. Winn III. They were recognized for giving more than 40 hours each to the program during 1994.

THE VETERANS AFFAIRS MEDICAL CENTER in Salem recently honored three people on its nursing staff during National Nurses Week. The three were recognized for showing the highest levels of compassion, technical competence and leadership in providing medical care. They are: Phyllis Scruggs of Salem, registered nurse; Martha Quarles of Roanoke, licensed practical nurse; and Delois Lovelace of Roanoke, nursing assistant.

KEVIN M. THOMAS of Roanoke recently received Liberty Mutual Insurance Company's Life Plus award for outstanding achievement in sales of life policies. He also received awards for his sales of auto and homeowners' policies.

WANDA P. SEARS and EDWARD R. BARNES , both personal financial advisers with American Express Financial Advisors, Inc. have been named master advisers. To receive the distinction, they established themselves in the top of the company's field force and exceeded stringent financial planning and client service requirements.

JEFF TINAGLIA, an agent for Farmers Insurance Group, has been honored for his outstanding sales achievements during 1994. He was invited to attend the 1995 annual meeting of Farmers' top sales producers.

JOYCE S. JOHNSON of Roanoke has been awarded the professional insurance designation chartered property casualty underwriter by the American Institute for CPCU. She is works for Thomas Rutherfoord Inc. and is state director of the Virginia State Council of National Association of Insurance Women, International.
