HOMES WILL LIGHT UP AGAINST CRIME

Neighborhood Watch groups in Montgomery and Pulaski counties will observe "National Night Out," Tuesday.

The aim of the annual event, sponsored by the National Association of Town Watch, is to involve citizens in taking a stand against crime and drug abuse.

Neighborhood Watch members and other residents are asked to leave their porch and outside lights on from sundown until midnight to show their support for keeping communities crime-free.

Pulaski town police are using the observance to reorganize most of its neighborhood watches, including the Lincoln Terrace and Dora Highway communities.

For more information on Neighborhood Watch and other crime prevention programs, call Sgt. John Yon at the Montgomery County Sheriff's Office or call your local law enforcement agency.
