Danville series

Season tickets are available for the 1995-96 Performing Arts Series at the Danville Area Association for the Arts & Humanities. Early bird discounts are available through Aug. 15. The performances include ``The History of the World,'' a comedy; ``Crazy for You,'' a musical; ``Will Rogers Follies,'' a musical, and the Veryovka Ukrainian Dance Company.

`Wheels of Dreams'

The Virginia Museum of Transportation will exhibit ``Wheels of Dreams'' throughout August. The exhibit will explore the connection between people and their extraordinary customized vehcles, and will consist of one-of-a-kind vehicles, and personality profiles and photos of their owners.

Museum hours are Monday-Saturday, 10 a.m.-5 p.m., Sunday, noon-5 p.m. General admission rates apply, groups rates are available. The museum is located at 303 Norfolk Ave., Roanoke.

Plymakers auditions

Playmakers & Co. will hold auditions, Tuesday, 7 p.m., for the Neil Simon's ``Chapter Two'' in Playmakers Playhouse, University Mall, Blacksburg.

Two male and two female roles are to be cast. No experience is necessary.

Drum and bugle corps

World-class drum and bugle corps will compete at The Summer Music Games of Southwest Virginia on Tuesday at 7 p.m., at the Salem Stadium.

Corps will be judged on their execution of the music and their visual drills as well as the quality of the show, both musically and visually.

Groups from across the country will perform.

Tickets at $12 and are available at the box office. All seats are reserved.

The Summer Music Games is affiliated with Drum Corps International.

Ms. Va. Senior Citizen

The deadline for entering the Ms. Virginia Senior Citizen Pageant has been extended to Tuesday. The pageant will be held on Aug. 24-26 in Roanoke at the Whitman Auditorium of Virginia Western Community College.

Lynchburg auditions

The Lynchburg Arts Center will hold auditions for "Kiss Me Kate" on Aug. 7-8 at 7 p.m. Call-backs will be Aug. 9.

Speaking roles are available for nine men and three women. Eight to 16 roles will be available for chorus and specialty dancers.
