Bosnian arms embargo

The Senate voted 69-29 Wednesday to lift the arms embargo on the Bosnian government. Supporters argued that the United Nations peacekeeping effort has failed and that the government should be given the chance to defend itself. Opponents said lifting the embargo could draw the United States further into the war. A ``yes'' vote favors lifting the embargo.
