The final paragraph of a story Saturday about a lawsuit against Norfolk Southern Corp. contained incorrect information. The Virginia Supreme Court reversed a $4.7 million judgment against NS because a judge failed to instruct jury members that they could reduce the award if they found contributory negligence by the injured employee. The court upheld a ruling that NS was negligent; in another trial, a jury will decide on an award after determining whether contributory negligence existed.
