A LONG, HOT SUMMER

July was hot, but not hot enough to set any records. We came close, though. Roanoke measured 13 days in which the temperature reached 90 degrees or more. The record for July came in 1966, when we had 14 days of 90 degrees or more. The all-time record? June 1966, when Roanoke has 23 scorching days of 90 degrees or more.
