A Seniors and Lawmen Together council will be set up to assess community needs for the program.
In March, a similar agreement was established in Montgomery County. The Pulaski County program plans to involve the Pulaski County Sheriff's Office as well as the town police departments in Pulaski and Dublin.
The Triad program is aimed at protecting seniors from crimes and rip-off artists through education, involvement and communication. AARP and the National Sheriff's Association began the program nationally in 1988 to reduce victimization of seniors.

Applications for the 17th annual Senior Arts and Crafts Show are available starting Monday, Christiansburg Senior Center, 655 Montgomery St. The show is Oct. 27-28, Christiansburg National Guard Armory, College and Depot streets.
The show is open to exhibitors 55 or older, and Christiansburg residents have priority. It's $10 per table, limit two. Sherry Kostric has details at 382-8173.

The Blacksburg Community Center has been leased for a convention Monday through Friday, Aug. 7-11. Senior programs have been canceled for that week.
Registration ends Aug. 18 for the Dine Out Lunch Bunch trip Aug. 30 to Smith Mountain Lake and a buffet lunch and cruise aboard the Virginia Dare. It's $30 for transportation, the cruise and buffet. The van leaves at 9 a.m. and returns 4:30 p.m.
