FAMILY DAY AT THE ART MUSEUM

Family Day at the Art Museum of Western Virginia will be held today from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. in the museum's second floor galleries and ArtVenture space.

The event is in conjunction with the ``Dreamweavers'' exhibit of fantasy art, currently on display at the museum.

A shadow puppets workshop will be hosted by David Wisniewski, author and illustrator of ``Sundiata: Lion King of Mali.'' A gallery talk and slide lecture on ``The History of Fantastic Illustration'' will be given by Charles Vess, illustrator of ``Spiderman: Spirit of the Earth.''

Roanoke storyteller Kathy Carter and African American musicians and storytellers Stowe and Lowe will perform.

A puppet design workshop will also be given.
