The Virginia Explore Park will sponsor a canoe trip on the Roanoke River Sunday from 12:30-4:30 p.m.
Bring your own canoe. All participants must be experienced canoeists and sign a release form. The cost is $12 per person. Participants must be 12 years or older.

Ride-A-Thon
The fifth annual "Homestead Spirit" Ride-A-Thon will be held Saturday and Sunday at the Homestead Resort in Hot Springs. The Ride-A-Thon participants will ride on marked trails of 5,10 and 20 miles. The benefit will provide adaptive equipment, program horses and scholarships for Ride with Pride, a nonprofit therapeutic horseback riding program that serves disabled persons.

Historic documents
Newly discovered historical documents signed by Thomas Jefferson, Patrick Henry, James Monroe and Benjamin Harrison will be available for public viewing at an open house tonight from 6-9 p.m. in the Botetourt County Circuit Court Clerk's Office at the court house in Fincastle.
The documents were found hidden in a file drawer earlier this year.
