Rocky Falls of Blacksburg released "Bronco Brothers" at the American Bookseller's Association conference in Chicago. The story centers on two broncos that are captured in the Badlands of South Dakota. The book is published by Northwest Publishing, Inc. Falls plans to publish a sequel to his book, "Diablo's Revenge," which he has completed.
Falls recently completed the Southwest Virginia Writing Project. He and his wife, Jane, recently moved from Bedford to Blacksburg. They are both enrolled in full-time doctoral programs at Virginia Tech. In addition to working on his dissertation, he plans to make presentations in the area, including one at Hotel Roanoke in October during the fall conference of the Virginia Association of Teachers of English.
A drawing by a local artist will be featured at the 1995 Colored Pencil Society of America International Colored Pencil Exhibition.
Radford resident Jennifer Phillips Webster will have her art "Thirty Some Odd Fish" displayed at the Art at the Powerhouse exhibition in Cleveland. This piece also will be featured in the upcoming issue of Best of Colored Pencil.
Webster is an artist and instructor who specializes in colored pencil and pen and ink drawings. Her originals and prints are available at Encore on Norwood Street in Radford.
The Radford Host Lions Club recently inducted its 1995-96 officers. They are: Dan Phelps, president; Lee Wrenn, firstt vice president; Joe Flickinger, second vice president; John Giesen, third vice president; Hubert Barton, secretary; Lou Kent, treasurer; Harvey Shelburne, lion tamer; Worth Umberger, lion twister; Mike Quesenberry and Greg Ridpath, first year board members; Buz Engelhard and Bill Yerrick, second year board members; and Darryl Gillespie, past president.

Cindy Harris won $21,000 in the Virginia Lottery instant game "High Roller." Harris bought her winning ticket at the Quality Mart on North Franklin Road in Christiansburg.
