ROANOKE REGIONAL ECONOMIC INDICATORS

Home sales rose 46 percent in the Roanoke Valley last month from July 1994, according to the Roanoke Valley Association of Realtors. The report showed 365 homes sold, up from 249 a year ago and off 4.7 percent from 383 in June. For the year to date, 2,359 houses have changed hands, down 3.9 percent from 2,455 a year ago. The median selling price was $100,000, up from $90,000 a month earlier, suggesting that fewer were sold to first-time buyers.
