TRANSPORTATION ART TO BE FEATURED IN EXHIBIT|

Applications are being accepted for the Kemper Dobbins Transportation Art\ Exposition, scheduled for Oct. 6-28. The show will be at the Virginia Museum\ of Transportation with Joanne Kueber, executive director of the Art Museum of Western Virginia as the juror.

Prizes include $500 cash awards for best show, best abstract interpretation, best representational interpretation and a people's choice award that the public will vote on.

Art work must be original with a transportation theme, including trains, carriages, autos, airplanes and boats, that are suitable for hanging. Scenes depicting transportation facilities and landscapes and abstracts of a transportation nature also are acceptable.

Applications are available at the Arts Council of the Blue Ridge, 20 E. Church St., Roanoke. For more information, call 342-5790. Registration deadline is Sept. 15.
