FILMMAKERS TO HOLD ROANOKE AUDITIONS SATURDAY

Michelle Morris, a native of Roanoke and a graduate of New York University's film school, is looking for people to appear in a student thesis film that will be shot in Roanoke from Sept. 27-Oct. 10.

Actors 30-55 years old are needed for speaking roles. Extras of all ages are needed to play reporters, parents and children. Extras with professional video/photo equipment are desirable.

Auditions for speaking parts will be held Saturday from 10 a.m.-5 p.m. at the Hollins branch library on Peters Creek Road. Actors interested in speaking parts should immediately send a picture and cover letter S. R. Eubank & Co., 2828 Emissary Drive, Roanoke, VA 24019.

An open casting call for extras will be held Aug. 22 from noon to 8 p.m. at Windsor Hill United Methodist Church, 3591Windsor Road S.W. Extras should bring a current picture to the auditions.

Titled ``Career Day,'' the film revolves around an 8-year-old child, his new adopted family and the repercussions that occur when his father is accused of being a vicious killer.

The filmmakers are financing the project with their own money and are looking for community support. Donations of money, goods and services may be tax-deductible.
