Mr. Michael A. Ballard and Mrs. Margaret R. Stewart, both of Christiansburg, Va., are pleased to announce the engagement of their daughter, Lori Ann, to Joseph Max Furrow, the son of Mr. Ira K. ``Sonny'' Furrow, of South Carolina, and Mrs. Gay C. Grayson, of Christiansburg, Va. The bride to be graduated from Radford University and is employed by the First National Bank Trust Department. The groom to be graduated from Kentucky Christian College and is employed by Quality Floors in Christiansburg. He is the Youth Director at Faith Christian Church of Christ. An October Wedding is planned.

Barrett-Clarke

Tammy Barrett and Terry Clarke are engaged and planning to be married November 11, 1995 in Alexandria, Va.

She is a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James P. Barrett of Winston-Salem, N.C. She is a graduate of Woodbridge High School and Virginia Tech, and is employed by Rounds Vanduzer Architects as Systems Administrator.

He is a son of Dr. E.J. Clarke Jr. and Ms. Louise Clarke of Roanoke. He is a graduate of Patrick Henry High School and Virginia Tech, and is employed with the Department of the Navy as an Engineer.

\ Biggs-Myers

Mr. and Mrs. Bruce Arthur Biggs of Elizabeth City, North Carolina, are pleased to announce the engagement of their daughter, Britt Anna Biggs, to Thomas Edgar Myers, Jr., son of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Edgar Myers of Roanoke.

Miss Biggs is a graduate of Salem College. She is employed by the Elizabeth City Pasquotank County Schools.

Mr. Myers graduated from North Cross School and Washington and Lee University. He is employed by First Union National Bank in Elizabeth City.

The wedding is planned for September 30, 1995 at Christ Episcopal Church in Elizabeth City.

\ Blackwell-Harner

Mr. and Mrs. James A. Blackwell of Kernersville, N.C. announce the engagement of their daughter, Jennifer Lea Blackwell, to Andrew Stephen Harner, son of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph P. Harner of Roanoke.

Miss Blackwell graduated from Meredith College and is Associate Director of Communications for Baptist Children's Homes of N.C. Mr. Harner graduated from U.Va. and is Account Manager for Quantum Medical Business Service.

An October 7 wedding is planned in Kernersville.

Connie Sue DeLong and Brian Scott Lemon are engaged and planning to be married on September 15, 1995 in Moneta. She is a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John H. DeLong. She graduated from Franklin County High School and Va. Western Community College and is employed by Revco as a Pharmacy Technician. He is a son of Mrs. Patricia Lemon. He graduated from Staunton River High School and is employed by Food Lion as a meat cutter.

Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Farmer, of Salem, announce the engagement of their daughter, Patricia Ann, to Kyle Fields. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Fields of San Angelo, Texas. The wedding is planned for September in Charleston, S.C.

\ Johnson-Herndon

Mr. and Mrs. J. Pat Johnson of Radford, Va., announce the engagement of their daughter, Jane Paige Johnson, to John David Herndon, son of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Herndon of Pulaski, Va., and Mr. and Mrs. Robert Edmunds of Floyd, Va. An October wedding is planned.

Melissa Kerns and Hubert Firebaugh are engaged and planning to be married December 30, 1995. She is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Dennis A. Kerns of Roanoke. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Rufus C. Firebaugh of Daleville. Both graduated from William Fleming High. She attended Bluefield College. He graduated from Roanoke College. He is employed by Kinko's Copies in Louisville, Ky. and also attends Southern Baptist Theological Seminary.

Mr. and Mrs. Joseph W. Martin and Mrs. Gloria Guthrie and the late Mr. R.L. Guthrie announce the engagement of their children, Elmira Rene Martin and Larry Dwight Guthrie. A wedding date of September 2, 1995 is planned at 2 p.m. at the East Gate Church of the Nazarene.

Mrs. Eileen Russell proudly announces the engagement of her daughter, Elaine Marie Russell, to Richard Lovorn Powers of Georgetown, South Carolina.

Richard Powers graduated from Georgetown High School. He also received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Marketing and a degree in Management Information Systems from the University of South Carolina. Mr. Powers is currently employed by Oneita Industries as a sales executive and is based out of Atlanta.

Elaine Russell graduated from Roanoke Catholic High School. She also received a Bachelor of Science Degree from Virginia Tech and a Juris Doctorate from Mercer University Law School. Miss Russell is currently employed as general counsel by Triple Horseshoe, Inc. of Atlanta, Georgia.

The wedding is planned for November 11, 1995 at St. Andrews Catholic Church. Mrs. Russell will entertain the couple, family & friends at an engag ement dinner at her home on Saturday, August 19, at 6:00 pm .\

Sink-Jones

Mr. and Mrs. Wayne T. Sink of Vinton, are proud to announce the engagement of their daughter, Denise Ann, to Jeffrey Marc Jones, son of Mr. and Mrs. James Jones of Newport News, Va. Denise is a graduate of William Byrd High School and attends Va. Western Community College. She is employed by ADIA. Jeffrey is a graduate of Menchville High School and Virginia Military Institute. He is employed by the United States Air Force as a Second Lt. and is stationed at Maxwell Air Force Base in Montgomery, Alabama.

The wedding is planned for December 9, 1995, in Vinton, Va.
