CRESTAR GIVES $250,000 TO TECH SCHOOL

Crestar Financial Corp. has pledged $250,000 to the Pamplin College of Business at Virginia Tech. The pledge will be spread over five years, beginning in 1996.

The endowment will be used to supplement the existing endowments of the Crestar Professorship in Banking and the Crestar Professorship in Finance. Crestar began its endowment program in the mid-1980s, and continues to support these programs with the Pamplin College of Business.

These funds will make it possible for the Pamplin College to continue to attract or retain nationally recognized scholars and teachers in the areas of banking, investment and corporate finance.

The income from the endowment will supplement the regular salaries offered to senior faculty members, thus making the salaries more competitive with other universities. The state will match the income from any additional gifts made to the existing endowments.
