I am writing concerning the new policy that Pulaski has decided to adapt concerning Christianity. Why is it that when we as a nation discriminate against minorities, there are civil suits filed, and when Christians are discriminated against, everyone looks at as just another policy.
In times of war and distress, the nation looks to God and prays. When it seems that everything is going peacefully, God is forgotten. But God is omnipresent and the sooner we all realize that the better our nation as a whole will be.
At the work place, anyone can curse, take the Lord's name in vain, and tell filthy jokes. If that offends anyone, so what. However, if someone dares to just wear a lapel pin to work showing their love for the Lord, someone is offended and a policy is installed. Isn't it about time that policies are installed concerning indecency?
If everyone took a little time out of their busy schedules each day to praise our Heavenly Father, there would not be as much corruption, immoral acts and violence in this world. I personally will continue to pray for this world and the people that install these policies, I would not want to be in your shoes on Judgment Day.

Pulaski Town Council Tuesday rescinded its month-old policy prohibiting town employees from discussing political, religious or social issues on the job. The vote followed a federal judge's ruling on workplace speech in a lawsuit against the Franklin County school system.
Stick with pro-Tech Marye, Shuler
I write not in opposition to Sen. Madison Marye's opponent, nor in opposition to Delegate Jim Shuler's opponent. As far as I know, their opponents are well-intentioned gentlemen.
But since Marye and Shuler have solid records for voting in support of Virginia Tech, as well as all levels of education, why change?
Their opponents say they, too, will support Virginia Tech, but as a voter, me thinks past proven voting records are infinitely more convincing than future promises.

Keep Marye in General Assembly
Sen. Madison Marye opposes cutting taxes, which would further cut education. The lack of education increases crime and many other problems that in the long run cost our society dearly. We must vote for and send Marye back to the General Assembly so that in the not-too-distant future we will not be building more prisons to house the poorly directed citizens in our state.
Marye is a member of the powerful Senate Finance Committee, which puts him in a valuable position to speak out for Southwest Virginia's interests.
We must return Marye to the General Assembly.

Thanks for helping out
We would like to express our appreciation to all those who assisted our son and his two friends after their auto accident on Blue Springs Road [in Snowville] Tuesday, July 25. To those trained in accident response, your actions are routinely appreciated. To those who just happened upon the accident and acted heroically to lift the car, words cannot begin to thank you.

Adkins genuinely cares for county
Earlier this month I had the pleasure of meeting Garnett Adkins, who is an independent candidate for sheriff in Montgomery County.
It was very refreshing to meet with a young man who is willing to take the responsibility for the safety and well being of the citizens of Montgomery County upon his shoulders.
I feel that Adkins does not want to be sheriff for what he stands to gain from the office, but has a genuine concern for each and every citizen of Montgomery County.
If elected I believe that he will bring about the type of change in law enforcement that will make the county a safer place to live and raise a family.
I would encourage each and every citizen that has an opportunity to meet this young man, to take a few minutes to listen to his ideas, it will be well worth your time. I am sure that you will be as impressed by his desire and ambitions as I am.
