CARDEN, James R. ( ""Jimmy"") 67, of Roanoke died Tuesday, August 22, 1995, in a local hospital. He was a member of AMVETS and retired from the National Guard with 20 years service. He was also a retired self employed automobile mechanic. Surviving are a son, James R. Carden Jr., Vinton; sisters and brothers-in-law, Lorraine and Curtis Dickerson, Hardy, Phyllis and Bill Weeks, Goodview; special friend, Nell Hawkins, Vinton. CRUSH, Richard Wayne, 68, of Roanoke, died in a local hospital Tuesday, August 22, 1995. He was a retired city employee. He is survived by two sons, Richard Wade Crush Jr. and Charles William (``Chuck'') Crush; a daughter, Tammy Crush; a granddaughter, Emily Craig Crush; his former wife, Mrs. Dixie Craig Crush, all of Roanoke; and a grandson, Max Farley Crush, New Castle; four sisters, Mrs. Claude (Bernicie) Simpson, Independence, Mrs. Tom Stockton (Ellen) Fox, Roanoke, Mrs. Glenn (Dorothy) Howdyshell, Mrs. D. Vernon (Ruth) Armstrong, both of Ocala, FL; sister-in-law, Mrs. Arthur B. (Eleanor) Crush, Roanoke. He was the son of the late Arthur Bertran and Sally Bryan Crush, Oriskany. A private memorial service will be held.

FISHER, Ralph Sherman Sr., 56, of Route 1, Newport, died Monday, August 21, 1995, in a Radford hospital. He is survived by his wife, Linda S. Fisher; two sons and daughters-in-law, Ralph Jr. and Shelia Fisher, Richard Lee and Sandy Fisher, all of Newport; his parents, Essie C. and Annabelle Fisher of Newport; four brothers, Sparkie Fisher of Dublin, Randolph Fisher of Newport, Essie Clayton Fisher and Michael Fisher, both of Christiansburg; two sisters, Rita Judkins of Hampton and Teresa Rasnake of Newport; a sister-in-law, Joyce Everhart of Petersburg. GANNAWAY, Edwin Craig, (``Ed""), 45, of Dublin, GA, died Monday afternoon, August 21, 1995 in a plane cra sh near Carrollton, Ga. Born in Pulaski County, Va., he was the son of the late Lawrence Craig Gannaway and Patricia McLear Gannaway McGrane. Mr. Gannaway was a Captain of the Atlantic Southeast Airlines. He lived in Winston-Salem, N.C. for a number of years and had made his home in Dublin for 18 years. Mr. Gannaway was a graduate of the R. J. Reynolds High School in Winston-Salem, N.C. and Presbyterian College in Clinton, S.C. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Dublin Rotary Club, the Dublin Country Club, the Emerald City Running Club, the Dublin Touchdown Club, the Laurens County Bicycle Club, the Boy Scouts of America and the Central Georgia Council. Surviving are his wife, Jacquelyn N. Gannaway; three sons, Lawrence Craig Gannaway, Russell David Gannaway, Robert Jacob Gannaway, all of Dublin, Ga.; stepfather, Arthur J. McGrane, Winston-Salem, N.C.; two brothers, Robert C. Gannaway, Joseph P. McGrane, both of Atlanta, Ga.; two sisters, Margaret M. Miller, Charlotte, N.C., Rosalie M. Simmons, Lincolnton, N.C.; and a number of aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held 11 a.m. Thursday at the First United Methodist Church in Dublin, Ga., with the Rev. Larry B. Roberts, the Rev. Jack Key and the Rev. Jim Cowart Jr. officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday. RAMSEY, Donald Lee, 63, of Raleigh, N.C., died Monday, August 21, 1995 at UNC Memorial Hospital. He was born in Roanoke, Va. and was the son of the late Henry Daniel Ramsey and Glenna Boone Ramsey. Since 1986, Mr. Ramsey worked with Classic Food Services of Durham as a Sales Representative. He was previously employed with the Macke Company/Service America as Food Service Representative. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy in the Korean War. Survivors include brothers, Robert D. Ramsey, Bassett, Va. and Daniel B. Ramsey, Charlottesville, Va.; nieces, Dana Ramsey and Elizabeth Peterson; nephew, Robert Ramsey Jr. A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at Raleigh Memorial Park. RUGARBER, Thomas T. Sr., 59, of Goodview, died suddenly Saturday, August 19, 1995, while vacationing in Florida. He was a retired Chief Petty Officer from the United States Navy with 20 years service and was presently employed by the Veterans Administration with 18 years service. Surviving are his wife of 36 years, Bertha Rugarber; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Thomas and Carolyn Rugarber, Mark Rugarber; two grandchildren, Brittany Eliza Rugarber, Keith Anthony Rugarber, all of Moneta. She was a daughter of the late Andrew and Merle Vanhoose Muncy, and was preceded in death by two brothers, William and Jimmy Muncy. She was a former sales clerk at the Wilderness Road Truck Stop. She is survived by two sons and a daughter-in-law, Jerry W. and Glenda Scott, Steve Scott and a special friend, Debbie Simmons; three sisters, Mrs. Betty Snyder, Portsmouth, Mrs. Sue Mills, Colonial Heights, Mrs. Sandra Muncy Marchal, Bluefield, W.Va.; two brothers, A.N. (``Buddy'') Muncy Jr., Bland, Ben H. Muncy, Bluefield; three grandchildren, Preston Todd Scott, Amanda Leigh Scott land Stefany Ann Scott, all of Bland; three specia l friends, Mildred, Peggy and Libby. She had made her home in Dublin must of her life, moving to Roanoke two years ago and was a former employee of Food Lion. Survivors are her finance, Mr. Jim Kidd; one daughter, Mrs. Tanya Rachelle Sword Berry of Dublin; one son, Mr. Darrell Wayne Moran of Rocky Mount; three sisters, Mrs. Pearl Tilly of Roanoke, Mrs. Gaynelle Lowe of Swartz, Mich., Mrs. Louise Boyd of Castlewood; four brothers, Mr. Everett Christian of California, Mr. Wilford Christian of Bandy, Mr. Harold Christian of Spokane, Wash., Mr. Fred W. Marshall of Narrows; one son, Robert D. Totten of Hondo, Texas; one sister, Odeline McGuire of Saltville; five grandchildren; one great-grandchild.
