MAIL TAKES UNEXPECTED DETOUR

A POSTAL inspector says about 460 pieces of neighbors' mail were found unopened at Ann Kennedy Dickens' apartment. The Roanoke woman has been arrested twice before on mail theft charges.

\ A Roanoke woman with an apparent compulsion for other people's mail was arrested Monday - her third time in five years - on a charge of stealing her neighbors' mail.

Postal inspectors hoped to get all of the roughly 460 pieces of mail on the way back to their senders by Tuesday night. The mail, all of it unopened, was found neatly stacked and boxed in a back bedroom, Postal Inspector Kevin Boyle said.
