Pulaski free meals policy

Pulaski County Schools have announced the policy for free and reduced-price meals.

Household size and income criteria will determine eligibility for families. Children of families receiving Aid to Families with Dependent Children (AFDC) are automatically eligible for free meals.

Foster children also may be eligible for benefits. These households will be notified of their eligibility by Sept. 1.

Parents not notified may submit school lunch and breakfast applications. Applications will be distributed to all households and are available in the principal's office in each school.

The supervisor of food services will review applications and determine eligibility.

Parents who would like to appeal eligibility decisions may contact: William Asbury, Superintendent of Schools, 44 Third St., Pulaski, Va. 24301.
