TRUCK-JACKING REPORTED

A truck driver for the Hickory River Plantation meat company was pulled from the truck she was driving by a man who then drove away in the vehicle Tuesday night, police said.

The woman, who was taken to Lewis-Gale Hospital with minor injuries Tuesday night, was stopped at 20th and Center streets Northwest in Roanoke about 9 p.m. when the incident occurred, according to Roanoke city police.

The unarmed man and the truck are still being sought.

Also Tuesday, police arrested two teen-age boys on robbery by violence juvenile petitions in Southeast Roanoke.

Police gave this account of what happened: At about 4:25 p.m., a 47-year-old woman noticed two boys were following her as she walked on the 500 block of Eighth Street Southeast. When she asked them what they wanted, one punched her in the face and the other took her purse.

Using her description of the two boys, police took into custody two suspects at a Southeast Roanoke house.
