THURSDAY MORNING BIBLE STUDY will begin Sept. 7 at Christ Lutheran Church, 2011 Brandon Ave. S.W. The sessions, taught by pastors Mark W. Radecke and Robin Henrickson, will continue through Nov. 30 and will explore the Scripture lessons for the following Sunday. A light lunch will be available after the 11 a.m. sessions.
EBENEZER BAPTIST CHURCH in Kingstown will celebrate its annual homecoming rally Sunday. The Rev. Jonny R. Stone, pastor-elect of Hill Street Baptist Church, will preach at the 3:30 p.m. service.
MARY EDEN WOHLFORD will speak Sunday at 9 a.m. at the Cotton Hill Road Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. The 1992 graduate of Cave Spring High School will leave Sept. 2 for Provo, Utah, to begin training for her two years of Mormon mission service in Chile.
The missionary candidate is a daughter of Trudy and Michael Wohlford and has attended Rex College in Idaho for two years.
COLONIAL AVENUE BAPTIST CHURCH has sent the Rev. Kirk Lashley, his wife, Barbara, and the Rev. Laney Mofield to Prague in the Czech Republic for a two-week work mission. The trio, who join 13 other Virginians, is helping with the relocation of a European Baptist seminary from Switzerland to Prague.
ST. JOHN LUTHERAN CHURCH, 4608 Brambleton Ave. S.W., will offer three Bible classes beginning the week of Sept. 10. "The Mighty Acts of God," a survey course, will be taught Sundays from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. by the Rev. Mark Graham.
On Monday mornings from 10 to 11:30, Mickie Wike will lead an ecumenical study based on the book of Romans. The Rev. David Delaney will teach "Tribes, Judges and Kings" on Monday nights from 7:15 to 8:45. The first two courses will continue through May, and the third ends in December.
