The Celtics, who won 12 straight games a year ago and took the Virginia Independent Schools' Division II state title, will be led by running back P.J. Moyer, who was Timesland's Sizzlin' Sophomore of the Year last season.
The Celtics opened last year at Kenston Forest and won 32-12. Kenston Forest was the only opponent to score more than one touchdown against Catholic, which gave up only eight scores in 12 games.
Seven Timesland schools will be involved in Hudson's 12th Annual Touchdown Classic Saturday at Pulaski County High School.
Eight schools will play eight halves of football starting at 3 p.m. when Cave Spring takes on Brookville, the only non-Timesland team in the field. Other afternoon contests find Salem meeting William Fleming at 3:50, Franklin County challenging Christiansburg at 4:40 and Pulaski County meeting Brookville at 5:30.
There will be punting and field goal competition at 6:20. The team competition starts again at 6:50 when Cave Spring meets Giles. Then Fleming meets Christiansburg at 7:40, Franklin County battles Salem at 8:30 and Pulaski County closes with Giles at 9:20.
