APPLE FESTIVAL IS SCHEDULED SEPT. 16

The 18th annual Boones Mill Apple Festival, to be held Sept. 16 in Boones Mill, will feature an art show of works by adults, students and children.

Artists may enter paintings and drawings in competition for cash prizes. Categories include adults, junior (ages 13-18) and youth (ages 6-12).

Each artist may submit up to three works. All entries must be framed and ready to hang.

Entry fees are $5 for adults, $1 for juniors and 50 cents for children.

Entries should be submitted to First Virginia Bank's Community Room (entry at the rear door), Boones Mill, on Sept. 15, from 3-6 p.m. Art work will be on display at the bank during the festival, which is sponsored by the Boones Mill Lions Club.
