FILM FESTIVAL COMING OCT. 26-29 TO CHARLOTTESVILLE

This year's Virginia Festival of American Film, ``U.S. and Them: The Cross-Cultural Politics of American Film,'' will be held Oct. 26-29 in Charlottesville.

Each of the more than 60 film screenings, priced at $6 per ticket, will be followed by a discussion involving film professionals, scholars, writers and the public.

Events include Roger Ebert's three-day workshop on ``The Third Man,'' classic films be Welles, Wilder, Kubrick, Flaherty and Leone, premieres and presentations by independent filmmakers and curators.

Also included are free panel discussions, museum exhibits, Family Day movies and entertainment.
