Two classes for teachers

BLACKSBURG - Teachers interested in science and insects can sign up for a pair of one-credit graduate courses this fall.

"Entomology for Elementary Teachers" and "Hands-On Insect Activities for Elementary Education" are teacher-friendly courses being offered at Virginia Tech. The courses use a hands-on and minds-on approach and provide practical information for using insects to teach science. The courses are suitable for recertification.

Classes meet five Thursdays from 6 to 8 p.m. starting Sept. 14 and one Saturday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Registration is being coordinated by the university's Department of Entomology. For more information, call Reese Voshell at 231-5707.
