Danville plays

The Danville Area Association for the Arts and Humanities has announced its schedule for the upcoming season, ``Broadway at Your Back Door.''

The Reduced Shakespeare Co. will present ``The Complete History of America (abridged)'' on Oct. 26. ``Crazy For You,'' a Tony-award-winning, all-Gershwin musical comedy will be performed on Dec. 9.

The ``Will Rogers Follies,'' winner of six Tony awards, will come to town Jan. 9. The season closes with the Veryovka Ukrainian Dance Co. on Feb. 1.

The Young People Series will feature ``All Aboard the Iron Horse'' on Oct. 9, ``American Tall Tales'' on Nov. 1 and ``Jekyll and Hyde'' on April 25.

Railway festival

The 1995 Roanoke Railway Festival will be held in and around the Virginia Museum of Transportation on Oct. 7 from 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Supporting events for the festival will take place Oct. 6 and 8.

The Class J 611 steam locomotive will be unveiled and displayed at the museum Oct. 6 at 7 p.m. The locomotive was recently retired from excursion service. The Kemper Dobbins Transportation Art Exposition will open at 6 p.m.

The exhibit and locomotive will be open to the public during the weekend.
