SEIZED POT PLANTS VALUED AT $100,000|

Marijuana plants worth more than $100,000 were seized Wednesday by the Pulaski County Drug Task Force, acting on tips and on-going investigations.

About 100 plants were seized Wednesday morning in the Allisonia section of the county, said Capt. Mike Alderman of the Pulaski County Sheriff's Office. Authorities also seized a trash bag and a pillowcase, both full of harvested marijuana being dried, scales, and other paraphernalia, Alderman said.

Later Wednesday, task force members seized 16 plants, ranging from 3 feet to 6 feet tall, on Snider Lane off Alum Spring Road.

No arrests have been made in either seizure, but Alderman said charges were pending.

Authorities generally estimate marijuana to be worth $1,000 per plant. Alderman said marijuana is selling for $1,500 to $1,800 a pound.
