BROCE, David Warren, 47, of Christiansburg, passed away Wednesday, August 30, 1995 at Radford Community Hospital. He was the son of the late Warren M. and Aberdeen W. Broce. He is survived by his wife, Patricia Thompson Broce; sons, Brian Matthew Broce, John Justin Broce; daughter, Lori M. Broce; sisters, Carolyn B. Boyd and husband, Kenneth M., Hendersonville, N.C.; Doris B. Wilkerson and husband, Mack, Suffolk; brother-in-law, Donald F. Thompson; sister-in-law, Connie T. Goodman; and his many friends as well as] his co-workers at Poly Scientific in Blacksburg. CREASEY, Dock L., 74, of Salem, passed away Wednesday, August 30, 1995, at the Salem VA Medical Center. He was the owner of Dock's Market in Salem for 16 years. Mr. Creasey attended Grace and Truth Baptist Church, and was a veteran of World War II. Surviving is his wife, Doris Marie Creasy; two daughters, Tracy L. Creasy, Lois C. DOOLEY, Robin Sharon, of Arlington, died Sunday, August 27,1995. She was the daughter of the late Alfredia Dooley and Leo Rice, granddaughter of the late Bruce and Florence Harris. DUNFORD, Mrs. Margaret Robinson Humphrey, 83, formerly of the Huddle Community, pa ssed away Wednesday, August 30, 1995 in the Wythe County Community Hospital. She was born February 6, 1912, the daughter of the late Chessie and Janie Wilson Humphrey. She was a lifetime member of the Sheffey PTA and the United Methodist Women and an active member of Huddle Memorial United Methodist Church. She was a 25-year member of Evansham Chapter No. 97, Order of the Eastern Star, and Past Noble Grand of Ivanhoe Sunshine Rebekah Lodge No. 20. She was a former 4-H counselor and member of the Home Demonstration Club. Mrs. Dunford was preceded in death by her husband, Frank B. Dunford and four brothers, Harden Humphrey, Charlie Humphrey, W. Raper Humphrey, and Chessie Humphrey. She is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Randall M. and Stephanie Dunford, Rt. 2, Rural Retreat; four sisters, Mary Mabry, Wilcoe, W.Va., Belle White, Christiansburg, Willie Brogan, Wytheville, Janie Fisher, Roanoke; two brothers, Jack Humphrey, and Woodrow Humphrey, both of Rt. 2, Max Meadows. Several nieces, nephews and a host of friends also survive. Funeral services will be held Saturday, September 2, 1995 at 11 a.m. at the Barnett Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Donnie Keller and the Rev. MARTIN, Richard Edward, 60, of Roanoke, died Thursday, August 31, 1995, at the University of Virginia Hospital after an extended illness. He was a Certified Public Accountant, retired as Senior Vice President and Controller, Dominion Bankshares Corp oration and owner/operator of Five M. Enterprises, Inc. He graduated Magna Cum Laude from Upper Iowa University and National Business College and was active in the Republican Party for 25 years, having served as Sixth District Republican Chairman and numerous other leadership positions. He served four years in the United States Marine Corps and was a member of the Cave Spring Baptist Church. Mr. Martin was the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Elbert J. Martin of Roanoke. Surviving family members are his wife, Helen Brown Martin; two daughters, Cherie Martin Connelly and Leesa Martin Wise; one son, Richard E. Martin Jr.; two sons-in-law, Peter H. Connelly and Stanley A. Wise; one daughter-in-law, Cathy Bowers Martin; and six grandchildren, Christopher and Meredith Connelly, Rachel and Rikki Wise, Daniel and Joshuah Martin. The Connelly's now live in Raleigh, N.C., the Wise Family resides in Tampa, Fla., and the Martin's remain in Roanoke. McGINLEY, Catherine Bunch, 85, of Narrows, died Thursday morning, August 31, 1995, in a Richmond, Va. nursing home. She was born in Newport News, Va. on November 3, 1909 and was the daughter of the late Thomas and Belle Darden Bunch. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ernest E. McGinley, and a daughter, Susan M. Zimmerman. She was a retired school teacher, having taught in the Narrows High School. She was a graduate of William and Mary College in Williamsburg, Va., Class of 1931 and was a member of the First Christian Church in Narrows, Va. She is survived by four sons, Charles Thomas McGinley, Roswell, Ga., Patton Hopkins McGinley, Stone Mountain, Ga., Michael Hoge McGinley, Marietta, Ga., Ernest E. McGinley Jr., Richmond; a daugh ter, Ann M. Muncy, Pearisburg; 13 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren. STARCHER, Mrs. Eleanor Fairman Buchanan, 94, of Marion, died Wednesday, August 30, 1995 at her home. Mrs. Starcher was the daughter of former Lieutenant Governor of Virginia, Benjamin Franklin Buchanan and Eleanor Sheffey Buchanan of Marion. She attended Marion College and was a graduate of Agnes Scott College of Decatur, Ga. She studied law at Dickinson Law School in Carlisle, Pa. from 1922 through 1923. For the next seven years, she organized and conducted European tours. In 1929 she married H. Watson Starcher of Huntington, W.Va. During her residence in Huntington, Mrs. Starcher took an active interest in civic and political affairs, serving as president of the Junior League, of t he Cabell County Young Democratic Club, and of the Senior Women's Democratic Club. In 1934, she moved to Washington, D.C., where she served on the staff of Senator M.M. Neely, Democrat of W.Va. When Senator Neely became governor of West Virginia, she returned with his staff to Charleston, but later went back to Washington and served as executive secretary to his two successors there, U.S. Senators Joseph Rosier and Hugh Ike Shott. Following the outbreak of World War II, Mrs. Starcher joined the Navy and was sent with one of the first Midshipman classes for training at Smith College, and appointed Lieutenant Jr. Grade upon completion of the course. She served on active duty during the war in Hawaii and in Washington, D.C. and remained with the Navy for twenty years, first on active duty and later in a civilian capacity, retiring with the rank of Commander. She received the Navy award for Meritorious Civilian Service. Mrs. Starcher was listed in the first edition of Who's Who of American Women. She was a member of Phi Delta Phi, legal fraternity of the Army and Navy Club of Washington, D.C., and of the Retired Officers Association of the Navy. In 1962, Mrs. Starcher retired to live in Marion, where she continued to take an active interest in political and community affairs. She was a lifelong member of the Royal Oak Presbyterian Church. She is survived by five nieces, Eleanor Buchanan Crounse, Annabel Buchanan Brown, both of the Paducah, Ky. area, Virginia Denit Strong, Tucson, Ariz., Betty Blair Stewart, Marion, Cynthia Dee Buchanan, Denver, Colo.; two nephews, John Preston Buchanan, Paducah, Ky. area, and Patrick Campbell Buchanan, Williamsburg. Funeral services will be held Saturday, September 2, 1995, at 2 p.m. at the Royal Oak Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Sheldon Sorge and the Rev. Edgar T. Ferrell officiating. She was born in Glen Wilton on April 27, 1923, daughter of the late Joseph Clinton and Susie Elmore Cornell. She was a homemaker and a member of the Selma Epworth United Methodist Church and Methodist Women and member of the Ladies Auxiliary Selma Fire Dept. She was preceded in death by her husband, Dorsey Kezzle Stogdale Jr . in 1992. She is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Mrs. William (Rebecca) Knick of Mooresville, N.C., Mrs. Fremont (Betty Jo) Vess of Roanoke; one son and daughter-in-law, Richard and Nancy Stogdale Sr. of Selma; two sisters and brother-in-law, Mildred and Rex Biggs of Covington and Louise Warf of Clifton Forge; one brother, J. K.
