The clothes closet will accept discarded and outgrown clothes at St. Paul United Methodist Church from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on weekdays. Enter through the covered side door and descend one flight of stairs.
Clothing for all ages is needed, especially warm jackets and small-sized jeans and tops. Husky sizes are also difficult to find.

PEOPLE
The Rev. Joel Preston Wright is the new interim pastor at the Presbyterian Church of Radford, on Randolph and Fourth Streets. Wright was interim pastor at the First Presbyterian Church in Pulaski, and he is pursuing a doctoral degree in education from the Presbyterian School of Christian Education in Richmond. Worship at the church is at 11 a.m., with Sunday school at 10 a.m.
Carter Street United Methodist Church in Radford has a new pastor. He is Julian Smith, who has moved to the community from Edzell, Scotland, with his wife, Margaret, and their children, Wilson, 14, and James, 13.
Smith taught high school and Margaret taught elementary school before moving to the United States, where he received a master of divinity degree from Asbury Theological Seminary in Wilmore, Ky. Worship at the church is at 11 a.m., Sunday School is at 10 a.m., with prayer meetings on Wednesdays at 7 p.m.
