Bond-Dail

Royal M. Bond and Pat Dail were united in marriage June 22, 1995 at the First Baptist Church, Radford, Va., with the Rev. Joe Burton officiating. Ester Epperly served as the matron of honor. Grafton E. Bowman served as best man. Music was furnished by Diane Ford, organist; with songs by the men's quartet.

The bride was escorted to the altar by her grandson, Jeremie Luzier. Candlelighting was by Mr. Bond's grandson, Scott Johnston, of Richmond. Va.

The couple spent their honeymoon at Niagara Falls and Canada.

Close-Davis

Valerie Renee Davis and Michael Dennis Close were united in marriage August 5, 1995. The Rev. Art Hearne officiated.

The bride was attended by Kim Podruchney as matron of honor, sister of the bride and Ashley Abbott as maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Melissa Ramsey, Michelle Hightower, To mika Finch, Felicia Whitcomb. Flowergirls were Brittany Sands and Billie Stultz.

The groom was attended by Dennis Close as best man, father of the groom. Tim Close as best man, brother of the groom. Groomsmen were Jamie Close, brother of the groom; Matthew Stalnaker, Shannon St.Clair, and Hayden Payne. Ringbearer was Brandon Podruchney.

The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Dennis Close of Roanoke. He is a graduate of Northside High School and is employed by U.P.S.

The couple will reside in Roanoke County.

Cynthia Dawn Padgett and Harry Eugene Cook were married on August 18, 1995 in an outdoor wedding at The Homeplace in Catawba, by the Rev. Bobby Altice. The bride is the daughter of William and Rebecca Padgett. The groom is the son of Irvin and Anna Cook.

April Ann Barker and Kevin Scott Crouse were married June 24, 1995 in Parkway Wesleyan Church. The officiating clergyman was Pastor John Ott. The reception was held at the church.

The maid of honor was Heather Harris, friend of the bride. The matron of honor was Lori Woods, friend of the bride. The bridesmaids were Ashley Barker, sister of the bride, Kim Crouse, sister of the groom, Beth Walters, Amanda Brown, and Alicia Brown, friends of the bride. The newlyweds will live in Blue Ridge, Va. after the wedding trip to Pigeon Forge, Tennessee.

Mary Louise Canfield and Royce Morgan Day were united in marriage on Saturday, August 12, 1995. The ceremony was performed by Reverend James Fosnot at St. Elias Catholic Church in Roanoke, Va. A reception followed at Holiday Inn, Airport.

Lourice Thomas of Roanoke served as maid of honor and Wanda Whitesides of York, SC served as matron of honor, both friends of the bride. The bridesmaids were Virginia Canfield of Fairfax, Va. and Carolyn McDonald of Dickson, Tn., sisters of the bride. Kathleen Rowe and Virginia Gazewood, nieces of the bride, were flower girls.

Kelly Day of Comstock Park, Mi., brother of the groom, was the best man. The groomsmen were Chris Creamer of Steubenville, Oh., Todd Glass of Grand Rapids, Mi., and Tony Hernandez of Brentwood, NY, all friends of the groom.

Lectors were Robert and Michael Canfield, brothers of the bride and Robert Edward Canfield, nephew of the bride, was altar server and cross bearer.

Mary is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Canfield of Roanoke, Mary is a graduate of Roanoke Catholic H.S. and Virginia Polytechnic Institute where she received a BA degree. She is employed by Child Care Resources in Charlotte, NC. Royce, son of Mr. Elinda Leazonby and the late Hershal Day, is a graduate of Newaygo H.S., Newaygo, Mi. He is employed by Bev Tech Corp., in Charlotte, N. C.

Following a wedding trip to Florida the newlyweds will reside in Charlotte, N. C.

\ Fittz-Webb

Mia Yvette Webb and Gregory Donald Fittz were married in a candlelight ceremony on September 2, 1995, at Macedonia Baptist Church. Rev. David Keaton and Judge George Harris united the happy couple. The dinner/dance reception was held at the Kazim Temple - Grand Ballroom.

Eunice Whittaker Thomas was the matron of honor. The bridesmaids were Cynthia Barlow, Shawne Frazier, Robbie Majors, Lisha Penn, Andrea Tyler-Fisher, all friends of the bride, and Darlene Fittz-Thomas, the groom's sister. Robin Jackson, friend of the bride, and Lynn Williams-Wright, cousin of the bride, were usherettes. The pretty little ladies were flower girl, Contavia Jones, cousin of the groom, and bell girl, Candyce St. Clair, cousin of the bride. The guestbook was attended by Rhonda Johnson, and the wedding directress was Rita Beane-Turner. The groom's cousin and sisters-in-law, Lisa Jones, Carolyn Fittz and Geraldine Fittz were hostesses.

The groom's brothers, Daniel Fittz served as best man, and Jeffrey Fittz as a groomsmen. Other groomsmen included Stuart Lovelace, groom's cousin, Jonathan Goodman, Steven Keen, Turner Mebane, and Julius Price, all friends of the groom. The ushers were Richard Morgan, groom's friend, Eddie Martin and Duane Webb, cousins of the bride. The proud junior ushers were Shaun Martin, cousin of the bride, and Byron Whittaker, bride's godson. Joel Lovelace, Jr., the groom's cousin, was the handsome ring bearer.

The bride was escorted by her brother Aaron ``Ermie'' Webb and her nephew Aaron ``EJ'' Webb. She is the daughter of Janice St. Clair Webb of Roanoke and the late Robert ``Bobby'' Webb. The groom is a Danville native and is the son of Edward W. Fittz and the late Lucy Price Fittz. The newlyweds will live in Roanoke after a honeymoon to the Poconos and a Virgin Island cruise. The couple would like to thank all their families and friends for making their wedding an occasion to cherish.

Anna Katherine Lifsey and Todd Michael Giszack were married August 5, 1995 in Richmond Christian Fellowship. The officiating clergyman was Ernie Hile. The maid of honor was Elisabeth Lifsey, sister of the bride. The best man was Howard Nippert, best friend of the groom. The bride wore a raw silk, tea length gown with flower appliques. She carried a bouquet of white roses with ivy and baby's breath. The b ride is a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Frank B. Lifsey of Fairfax. She is a graduate of Virginia Tech. The bridegroom, son of Miss Patricia E. Giszack of Warwick, N.Y., is a graduate of Virginia Tech and is currently working on his masters degree in Education at Radford University. The bridegroom is a self-employed general contractor. The newlyweds will live in Blacksburg after the wedding trip to the coast of Maine.

Nancy Elizabeth Stanfield and John Jarl Gustafson were married on September 2, 1995 in Christ Episcopal Church. The Rev. Deborah H. Hunley was the officiating clergy. The reception was held at Hidden Valley Country Club.

Sally A Livingston, friend, served as maid of honor. The bridesmaids were Katherine Stanfield Holloway, sister of the bride; Kathy L. Gustafson, sister of the groom; Jennifer Pattisall Horrigan, Kelly Stevens Douthat, Carol D. Leonnig and Ellen Smallwood Peete, friends of the bride. Brian Michael, friend, served as best man. The groomsmen were Robert Thure Gustafson, brother of the groom; Raymond C. Holloway, III, brother-in-law of the bride; David K. Cumins, Kent Frankfother and Timothy I. Ryan, friends of the groom.

The bride's gown was ivory silk and featured a fingertip veil. The bodice was accented with beaded pearls. She carried a nosegay of miniature white spray roses.

The bride is a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Richard F. Stanfield of Roanoke, Va. She is a graduate of North Cross School and Salem College, and is Director of Education for The Light Factory Photographic Arts Center in Charlotte, N.C. The groom is th e son of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Wendel Gustafson of Lincolnshire, Illinois. He is a graduate of Oak Park High School and the University of Illinois, and is currently attending the University of North Carolina.

The newlyweds will live in Charlotte, North Carolina, after the wedding trip to Jamaica.

The reception was held in the Troutville Town Hall. The bride is a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. F. H. Scott of Roanoke. The groom is the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. A. S. Hatcher of Roanoke. The newlyweds will live in Troutville, Va.

Angela Dawn Tolley and Brian Eugene Horsley were married Sept. 2, 1995 in Ridgewood Baptist Church by Rev. Nelson Harris. The bride was escorted by her grandfather, Mr. Fred Morris. The reception was held at the Salem Civic Center Banquet Hall. The matron of honor was Mrs. Wendy Trail, friend. The bridesmaids were Miss Christy Layman, Miss Christine ``Toni'' Pierce and Mrs. Vickie Woolwine, all friends. Flowergirl was Miss Kontessa St.Clair, niece of the groom. The best man was Mr. Roger Horsley Sr., father of the groom. Groomsmen were Mr. Roger Horsley Jr., brother of the groom, Mr. Joseph Mills, and Mr. Paul Bowles, friends. Angela Barkley Hawkins and Steven Alec Jones were married September 2, 1995 in Community Advent Christian Church. A traditional double-ring ceremony was officiated by Reverend T. G. Ayers. The bride was given in marriage by her father, Wayne Hawkins of Atlanta. She wore an elegant long-sleeved, v-neck gown with Alencon lace and pearls over satin with chapel train and carried a bouquet of white roses and pearls.

The maid of honor was Rebecca Hawkins, sister of the bride. Bridesmaids were Jeanne Modley and Cynthia Lytton. Best man was Wesley Smith and groomsmen were Jack Adams and Chuck Hughes. The guestbook was attended by Charity Adams. A buffet reception was held at the Sans Souci Clubhouse. The couple will live in Roanoke after a honeymoon trip to Disney World.

She is a 1986 graduate of Cave Spring High School and a 1990 graduate of VPI&SU. She is employed by York County Schools. The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. George E. Martin, Seaford, Virginia. He is a 1987 graduate of Tabb High School and a 1992 graduate of VPI&SU. He is employed by Dynamic Engineering, Inc., Newport News.

The bride, escorted by her father, was given in marriage by her parents. Laura Leonard, sister of the bride, was matron of honor. Attendants were LeAnn Daugherty, Betsy Hurley, and Amy Vest. Best man was Anthony Martin, brother of the groom. Ushers were Mark Danley, Steve Farley, and Michael Martin, brother of the groom. Soloists were Miss Mary Harris of South Carolina and Mr. Jason Fields of Tennessee.

The reception was held in the Shenandoah Room of Hotel Roanoke. The couple will live in Newport News, Virginia.

Kimberly Sue Keith and Eugene Todd Mills were married July 9, 1995 at the Alleghany Church of Christ with Reverend Porter Riner officiating. The reception was held at the Blacksburg Red Lion Inn.

The matron of honor was Tammy Jones, sister of the groom. The bride's matrons were Pamela Scott, Connie Hall, Rebekah Stump, and Debra Hall, friends of the bride. The junior bridesmaid was Tracy Hodges, cousin of the bride.

The best man was Arnold Mills, father of the groom. The groomsmen were Ronnie Jones, brother of the groom; Shane Fisher, Matt Lohr, and Mike Sparrer, friends of the groom. The junior groomsman was Jamie Fisher, friend of the groom.

The bride is the daughter of Joyce and D. Wayne Dutton of Roanoke, Va. She is a graduate of Northside High School, attended Virginia Western Community College and is employed by John C. Nordt Co.

The groom is the son of Judy and Larry A. Minnix, Sr., of Vinton, Va. He is a graduate of William Byrd High School and is employed by First Union Bank.

After a two week tour of the Southwestern states, the couple is residing in Vinton.

Poulton-Welleford| Elizabeth Ayn Welleford and Peter Jon Poulton were married September 2, 1995 in Salem Baptist Church with Lew Bennett, Pastor, officiating. The reception was held at the church fellowship hall.

The maid of honor was Miriam Hirsch, friend. The bridesmaids were Anne Baxter Harris, Nancy Lynch, Michelle Metheney Neu, and Mary Nicholson, all friends. Flowergirls were Meredith Dobyns and Nomeka Sours, nieces of the groom.

The bride's gown was white silk shantung with pearl accents. She carried a bouquet of calla lilies.

The bride is the daughter of Paul and Margaret Welleford of Salem. She is a graduate of Salem High School, Averett College and Medical College of Virginia. She is employed by Virginia Commonwealth University.

The groom is the son of William and Mary Lou Poulton of Salem. He graduated from Salem High School and attends Virginia Commonwealth University. He is employed by Carmax as a graphic designer.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William E. Stiner of San Angelo, Texas, and The Rev. and Mrs. Robert G. Bruce of Austin, Texas. The bridegroom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Dale Shappell Jr. of Longview, Texas. Grandparents of the bride are Mr. and Mrs. Ryburn Vance James and Mr. and Mrs. Robert W. Bruce, all of Radford.

Casey Cox, stepsister of the bride, served as maid of honor. The bridesmaids were Carla Sayers, cousin of the bride; Lea Shappell, sister-in-law of the groom; and Christine McCall, friend of the bride. The flowergirl was Whitten Shappell, niece of the groom. The guestbook was attended by Morgan Sayers and Kate Sayers, cousins of the bride.

The bride is attending Capital City Court Reporting School in Austin, texas, and is employed by the Texas State Treasury. The groom is attending the University of Texas at Austin, Texas, and is associated with Power Computing Corporation in Austin. After a wedding trip to Hawaii, the couple will live in Austin, Texas.
