WASHINGTON - A gay Republican congressman who has endorsed Senate Majority Leader Bob Dole for president chastised Dole on Wednesday for returning a contribution from a gay GOP group on grounds it had an extreme agenda.
``Are you rejecting the support of anyone who happens to be gay?'' Wisconsin Rep. Steve Gunderson asked in a letter to Dole.
Dole's campaign recently said it was returning a $1,000 contribution from the Log Cabin Club, an organization of gay Republicans, because Dole did not share the organization's views on several issues.

CIA critic sues over Barbara Bush book
WASHINGTON - A longtime critic of the Central Intelligence Agency is suing former first lady Barbara Bush over statements in her 1994 autobiography that he said are ``false and defamatory.''
Former CIA operative Philip Agee said Bush falsely wrote in ``A Memoir'' that Agee's identification in his 1975 book of the CIA's Athens station chief led to the assassination of the official, Richard Welch.
At a news conference Wednesday, Agee denied writing about Welch before he was assassinated in December 1975, mentioning him by name to anyone or even knowing him while both men worked for the CIA.
