ROBBER ENTERS HOME, ATTACKS RESIDENT, 76

A masked man demanding money broke into a home in the 1000 block of Palm Avenue Northwest on Tuesday afternoon, Roanoke police said.

About 2:30 p.m., the man entered a bedroom occupied by the 76-year-old resident. The robber began to choke the resident. During the struggle, the resident pulled a revolver from under his pillow.

The man took the gun from the resident and fled. The resident was not injured. By late Wednesday, no arrest had been made.
