BYRD ROUTS GLENVAR

Freshman Lara Nester made five of seven 3-point field-goal attempts to score 15 points, and William Byrd had 23 steals to pull away for a 68-39 non-district victory over Glenvar on Wednesday night in Vinton.

Brandy Allen had 18 points and seven steals for the Terriers (4-0)

Erica Hale led Glenvar (1-3) with 19 points.

Salem 57, Radford 39: Shellie Johnson scored 12 of her game-high 24 points in the third quarter as the Spartans pulled away for the non-district victory in Salem.

Salem (2-0), which defeated two-time Group A champion Floyd County on Tuesday night, also got 11 points from Marilyn Huang.
