MIDSHIPMAN JENNY L. SIGEL, daughter of Navy Capt. and Mrs. Steve C. Sigel of Vinton, served aboard the aircraft carrier USS Theodore Roosevelt, homeported in Norfolk.
During her summer training cruise, Sigel, a student at the University of Virginia, received training in shiphandling, navigation, seamanship, communications, weapons systems and ship's damage control and firefighting.
Sigel is a 1993 graduate of William Byrd High School.
