DALEVILLE RIDERS PLACE IN 4-H COMPETITION

The Daleville 4-H Horse and Pony Club recently won the senior and junior divisions of the State Horse Judging Contest at Hollins College.

The senior team of Daniel Thrasher, Evelyn Thornton and Jennifer Billins took first in halter judging and performance judging; second in reasons; and won the Huff Cup for its overall score.

The junior team of Josh Bandy, Julie McNeil and Lia Jones won first in halter, performance and overall.

Individually, Thrasher placed first in halter and performance; third in reasons; and first overall. Thornton placed third in halter; ninth in performance; seventh in reasons; and fifth overall. Bandy placed 10th in halter, first in performance, and third overall. McNeil placed third in halter; fourth in performance; and second overall.
